René Nõmmik is one of the founders and key figures of Fine 5 Dance Theatre and School. Since 1992 he has been taking part in several workshops, for example ADF in USA, P. Bausch’s in Paris etc. He is the lecturer of choreographic composition in Tallinn University. His workshops are held in Fine 5 Dance School and also in several international festivals outside Estonia. Renè Nõmmik has several times been the laureate of the Vitebski International Modern Dance Festival (1992, 1993, 1996, 2000, 2001) and the winner of Pinero International Dance Contest (Italy 1997). He has been a dancer in more than ten international projects and performed in more than 40 international festivals. Tiina Ollesk is is one of the founders and key figures of Fine 5 Dance Theatre and School. She has taken part in numerous workshops, including Carolyn Carlson’s Atelier de Paris. Now she works as a pedagogue in Fine 5 Dance School and in Tallinn University, and has been invited to teach at several international contemporary dance festivals and seminars (e.g. Dance Across Borders 2007 in New York, Meeting of the European Higher Education Institutions 2005 in Essen, etc.). As a dancer and choreographer, she has performed at more than 50 international festivals. Tiina Ollesk has been the laureate of the Vitebsk International Festival of Modern Choreography in 1999 ("Path`s"), in 2001 ("Sandwater" together with René Nõmmik) and in 2003 („Two Trains” together with René Nõmmik). She has a Master’s degree in choreography and she has participated in several international dance projects.
Dmitri Kruus has been a dancer in the performances Bet, Carmina Burana, 24 Hours, Holy Spring, A Bit Before Tomorrow and taught as a teacher in Fine 5 Dance School. Dima is also a juggler and a breakdancer. Since 1995 he has been complementing himself in contemporary dance in Estonia and France. He worked with Pal Frenack’s Company over a year. He has performed in France, Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Russia, Cyprus, Poland, Baltic States and taken part in several Estonian contemporary dance projects.
Gert Preegel was born in Tallinn in 1985. Gert came to Fine5 Danceschool in 2004. At the moment he is a 3rd year student at Tallinn Technical University, where he studies chemistry and environment protection. He has danced in Fine5’s performances „Carmina Burana”, „Requiem”, “Bet”, and „Rändajad“ (- pane ise tõlge). Gert is a two-time (2005, 2006) School Dance Festival laureate together with other Fine5 Danceschool students. He has recently co-choreographed two short dance pieces. At the moment, he and his partner continue on their journey towards finding the dancers and choreographers in them.
Helen Reitsnik is one of the dancers in Holy Spring and A Bit Before Tomorrow. She has graduated Tallinn Pedagogocal University as a choreograph. Since 1996 she has been studying and teaching in Fine 5 Dance School and taken part in performances of Fine 5. She has supplemented herself in contemporary dance workshops in Estonia and outside, takes actively part in Estonian dance life and now works as a dance teacher. Helen has performed in Yoshiko Chuma's work called "What`s Up" and in many other works in Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Russia, Lithuania.
Külli Roosna was born in Pärnumaa (Estonia) in 1981. After her graduation from high school in Pärnu in 2000, she entered Tartu University to study Estonian philology. In 2001, she came to the capital to study choreography in Tallinn University. After obtaining the Bachelor’s degree, Külli continued her studies in Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands, where she got her second Bachelor’s degree in spring 2007. Külli has been involved in Fine5 Dance Theatre’s projects since 2003. She has danced in “Le Sacre du Printemps”, „Carmina Burana” and „Requiem”, as well as in many smaller dance projects. She has also given workshops and dance lessons in Fine5 Dance School. In 2005, she took part in the Art Forum Pointe-to-Point organized by the Asian-European Foundation in Tokyo (and wrote an article about it in the december issue of the Estonian cultural magazine Theater. Music.Cinema). At the moment, Külli is working on different projects in Holland with the American choreographer Dylan Newcomb.
Laura Kvelstein has danced in the performances “24 Hours”, “Just”, “Carmina Burana” and “Requiem”, as well as in a number of smaller projects. Before joining Fine5 Dance School and later the company, she learned ballet for 7 years in Fouette Ballet School. In 2004, she was one of four Estonian dancers who made it to the final audition of P.A.R.T.S in Brussels; the same year she was nominated to the Philipp Morris dance awards in the Best Dancer category for her performance in „24 Hours”. In november 2006, she and Dmitri Kruus won the second prize with their duet „One spot, two shadows” in the IFMC contemporary dance contest in Vitebsk, Belarus. In december the same year, she won the Best Young Dancer scholarship during the I.D.A. dance festival in Tartu, Estonia. Together with Dmitri Kruus they were nominated to the Philipp Morris dance award in the Breakthrough of the Year category. In June 2007, Laura took part in the DAB (Dance Across Borders) 3-week intensive dance course in the U.S.A. Laura has a Master’s degree in French philology.
Rain Saukas has danced in the performances „Bet”, „Just”, „Carmina Burana” and „Requiem”, as well as in several smaller projects. He is a student of Fine 5 Dance School since 2002. He graduated the Estonian Art Academy as a graphic designer and at the moment is obtaining his Master’s degree in the field of New media. Rain is the author and designer of Fine5 Dance Theatre’s new logo, advertising (and all graphical) materials, and home page. In 2006, Rain took part in the contemporary dance forum Pointe-to-Point organized by the Asian-European Foundation in Warsaw, Poland. In 2007, he participated in the DAB (Dance Across Borders) 3-week intensive dance course in the U.S.A.
Silver Soorsk was born in Saaremaa in 1977. In 2001, he graduated from the Tallinn College of Engineering in the field of construction. Silver came to Fine5 Danceschool in 2002. He has danced in Fine5 Dance Theatre's performances "Carmina Burana", "Requiem" and "Travellers", as well as in many smaller projects. He has taken part in several workshops by such choreographers as Carolyn Carlson, Matteo Moles, etc.
