Workshops at Hobuveski Everyone interested and courageous enough can take part of free workshops on improvisation and African dance, directed by Jattamarie Rauhaluoto (Finland). African dance is a modern style of movement based on ritual dances of native Africans. It's main characteristics are the vivid and diversely rich rhythms on one and expressive movement on the other hand. Workshops are accompanied by live drumming!
*Jattamarie Rauhaluoto* A freelance dancer and choreographer from Turku. In her creations she often combines contemporary dance with movements of African dance. Binding different art forms and working with artists from different fields is distinguishing for Rauhaluoto. In her productions dance is often combined with video projections and performances take place outside the conventional stages. Bet / Fine5 Dance Theatre The performance concentrates on five dancers with very different backgrounds. The audience is presented with an extraordinary game, where dancers share their own understanding on movement and body-experience, separately and together. Each player will place a bet on his/her experience, age and story, as a ballet dancer, a modern dancer, a juggler, a musician and a designer enter the game. Undiin / Zick Dance Theatre A contemporary dance piece for 6 dancers by ballet dancer and renowned producer of musicals and modern dance, Dmitri Harchenko. Based on many folk tales and a drama, Undiin sketches a vision of a human-like creature, who lives by the sea. The performance is completed with music by Lepo Sumera and live improvisation by Taavi Kerikmäe
