In Finland was held from18 until 25th of July 2009 18th Full Moon Dance Festival. Festival was focused on wide selection of Finnish contemporary dance. On the big stage was represented unique movement language by male choreographers (Tommi Kitti, Jyrki Karttunen, Kenneth Kvarnström) and on the small stage personal pictures of women’s role in today’s society by female choreographers (Liisa Pentti, Elina Pirinen, Johanna Tuukanen, Anna). During the Festival was also prepared a work-in progress type performance „Days of Disco” lead by Jyrki Kartunen. In the process took part also dancers from Fine5 Dance Theatre Laura Kvelstein, Külli Roosna, Rain Saukas and from Independent Dance Association Jaan Ulst and Endro Roosimäe. Process provided to the participants a deeper perspective to choreographers working methods and performance techniques. Performance was presented to the audience as closing-performance of the festival.
This year Festival quest-lecturer was Susan Klein (New York) – Klein Technique theories. Klein Technique is an education of the body on a profoundly deep level of understanding which leads to true strength, power and efficiency in movement. In course lead by Susan Klein participated from Fine5 Irina Pähn and Tiina Ollesk.
Fine5 Dance Theatre dancer’s participation from the festival was supported by Nordic Culture Point Mobility Funding program and Estonian Cultural Endowment.
