The 27th International Festival of Modern Choreography (IFMC) took place from 19th-23rd of November, 2014. Partaking in the festival guest-programme were the Koresh Dance Company (USA), Gandini Juggling (Great Britain), Andersson Dance (Sweden), Jan Martens Cie (Belgium), Kyiv Modern Ballet (Ukraine), Chelyabinsk Modern Dance Theatre (Russia), Evgeny Panfilov’s Ballet (Russia), Alvaro Esteban Lopez (Spain), Israel Ballet Company (Israel) and Fine5 Dance Theatre. The IFMC main event is the International Competition of Choreography: performances made during the last year can participate, with length of up to 20 minutes. The choreographer and the teacher in the choreography department of the Tallinn University Renee Nõmmik from Estonia was also invited to be a member of the international dance competition jury. The jury members were Radu Poklitaru (Ukraine, head of the jury), Ido Tadmor (Israel), Emmanuelle Soavi (Italy), Olga Pona (Russia), Julja Djatko (Belarus). In addition to the jury an advisory board of dance experts worked at the festival, lead by Larisa Barõkina.
Winner of IFMC 2014 was announced Japanese choreographer Ayaka Habata with performance „Nil“(performers Ayaka Habata & Cotara Ito).
The founders of the IFMC were the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Vitebsk City Council, and the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater. The organizer of the event is the Vitebsk Culture Center. Fine5 Dance Theatre participation at IFMC was supported by Estonian Ministry of Culture program „Eesti kultuur maailmas“.
